The last few months have been difficult with Dave's Dad being very ill, sadly last week he passed away after a long and brave battle with cancer.Yesterday was his funeral. He is now at peace and reunited with his lovely wife Shirley but for those of us left behind a huge void in our lives.Ryan was fantastic and read this poem beautifully at the service yesterday.
Miss Me But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone
It's all part of the masters plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me but let me go.
Rest in peace Derek, you are very much loved and will be greatly missed.

Ann, so sorry you have had to cope with all this. Ryan's grandad would have been proud of him reading that poem for him. With cancer, once it is clear it is terminal, all you can do is hope for as little suffering as possible. YOu have a large family (from the Christmas pictures!) to pull together and remember him for. Take care Hxxx
So sorry for your loss Ann. Thinking of you and your family.
